THE body found in a trench on July 26, 2016 at Grant Street, Paradise, East Coast Demerara has been identified as Deonarine Harris, called “Ronald” of Enterprise Gardens, also on the East Coast of Demerara.Relatives of the 47-year-old man said he was a habitual drinker and had often suffered from epilepsy and had wandered off.

Sleuths surmised that the man’s death may have been accidental and may have resulted from an epileptic attack while he under the influence of alcohol fell into the trench and drowned.

The body was spotted by residents and the police were summoned.

Commander of the Police ‘C’ Division, Marlon Chapman, had reported that the case was being treated as a suspected drowning as no marks of violence were seen on the body.
