SEVEN councillors were elected on Monday to serve on the Environment and Sustainability Committee that will provide the City Council with specific recommendations on environmental issues.Mayor Patricia Chase-Green will chair the committee that is now made up of Councillors Linda Gomes-Haley, Carolyn Caesar, Heston Bostwick, Junior Garrett, Monica Thomas and Winston Harding.

The committee is responsible for reviewing all matters pertaining to garbage, recycling, composting, water conservation, environmental stewardship, water quality, air quality, open spaces, trees, energy conservation, climate change, global warming, among others.
