Winner to be decided today in EBFA/Stag Beer Elite Super League

THE winner of the East Bank Football Association’s (EBFA)/ Stag Beer Elite Super League will be determined today at the Grove Community Centre ground, where the final two matches of the league will be contested.In the opening contest which is scheduled for a 13:30hrs start, home side and defending champions Grove Hi-Tech will come up against Mocha Champs, while the feature game brings together Herstelling Raiders and Diamond United.
Grove Hi-Tech is currently heading the points standing with 12 points, two more than Herstelling Raiders and all Grove needs is a draw to clinch the title.
A win will be even better. However, should Grove lose and Herstelling win their match against Diamond United, it will see Herstelling carting off the spoils.
To date, both Grove and Herstelling have won five of their six matches in the eight-team tournament and both have suffered one loss each.
Grove Hi-Tech currently has a goal difference of plus nine as against Herstelling’s 0.
In the opening game of the league in March this year, Grove had defeated Herstelling by a 4-1 margin.
The winner of the tournament will receive $300,000, while the second, third and fourth-place teams will earn $150,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
Also up for grabs are prizes for the Most Valuable Player, the Highest Goal Scorer, the Best Goal Keeper and the Most Disciplined Team.
