THE Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday in a release stated that the third round and tomorrow’s final of the Hand-in-Hand Insurance Company-sponsored Under-19 one-day tournament have been rescheduled until further notice. Both third-round fixtures were washed out yesterday without a ball bowled due to heavy rain and waterlogged outfields.
For yesterday’s fixture, Demerara were expected to play the Under-17s at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) while Berbice and Essequibo were to do battle at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC).
However, Demerara, Essequibo and the Select Under-17s have all recorded one victory each to date.
Teams are rewarded eight points for a win, two points for no result, 0.3 point for every fast bowling wicket; in addition, one point is awarded for bowling out a team under 40 overs.
Based on the allocation, Demerara top the standings after the first two rounds with 13.04 points, followed by the Select Under-17s, 11.03, Essequibo 10.05 and Berbice 4.00.
