Dear Editor,
IN his rumination retreat, Leslie Ramsammy has again peddled his familiar untruths. He says that Guyana is being governed by the “few for the few.”Ours is a democratically elected government which was voted into office on May 11, 2015 by the majority of Guyanese voting at free and fair elections. A majority is not a few. The new APNU+AFC Coalition inherited a situation where there was pervasive corruption by a few. His regime had farmed out Guyana’s best resources to a few foreign friends. His regime had forked out the television and radio airwaves to its few friends and cronies as well as juicy contracts, fat salaries and state properties. All to a few friends.
Mr. Ramsammy also knows very well that his regime had also shared security services to a few friends known for their involvement in narco-crimes. Ramsammy knows this all so well as he had featured in procurement of sophisticated electronic equipment for spying, which landed in the hands of the mastermind of the criminal enterprise. Editor, do I need to say more! Having returned to his safe “home” refuge, Ramsammy is filled with sad and bitter ruminations about the damage his regime inflicted on Guyana, especially the sugar industry which was placed in indebtedness to the tune of $2Billion, and the loss of the Venezuelan rice deal about which he knew and made no disclosure before his unceremonious retreat to the USA.
Yours truly
Abel Seetaran
