INVESTIGATIONS are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred on the Le Destin Public Road, East Bank Essequibo, on Monday at about 23:30hrs.

Thirty-year-old taxi driver Derron Elexey, known as ‘Spice’, of De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, lost his life when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed after colliding with another vehicle he was attempting to overtake, as per the police report.

Elexey was rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

He was a former minibus conductor before working as a taxi driver on the Parika/Vreed-en-Hoop route.
