Crum-Ewing hit McCoy, others remain in custody

Top sources in the Guyana Police Force have refuted claims circulating in some circles that the three persons held for questioning in the murder of Courtney Crum Ewing have been tortured into confessing to the crime. The Guyana Chronicle was reliably informed that Sean Hinds, Jason Abdulla and Okene Fraser are likely to remain in the custody for an additional 72 hours. It was reported by persons close to the investigation that Fraser has been cooperating with the police on the matter, while Abdulla has also been providing the police with information, which are being checked to ensure that they are authentic.
Meanwhile, on Thursday the police took a decision to transport Abdulla to the Georgetown Public Hospital for a medical checkup after he complained of having injuries to his foot, reportedly inflicted by police investigators. The police after arriving at the Georgetown Public Hospital with the suspect were forced to transport him to another health facility after the machine which had to be used to perform a scan on the accused was not working. Former Press and Publicity Officer in the then Office of the President Kwame McCoy who was taken into custody on Wednesday remains in the custody of the police also.
