A fire of unknown origin today destroyed the home of a Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara Family.

When the Guyana Chronicle arrived at the scene, eyewitnesses disclosed that the fire began at around 10:00 hrs and the occupants of the home were observed exiting with suitcases while the house was on fire.

According to residents in the area, the man and the woman, who lived in the wooden fllat house, left the area while the house was burning. Neighbours then took it upon themselves to contact the Guyana Fire Service.

However, when the Fire Service arrived, the fire had already gutted the house. (Navendra Seoraj)
