A 33-YEAR-OLD security officer was on Tuesday refused bail after being charged for having an illegal gun and ammunition. Rico Daniels, of 77 Norton Street, Lodge, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that he had a .32 pistol with 10 matching rounds in his possession without being a legal firearm holder or having a license to do so.
The Prosecuting Officer did not reveal the facts to the court but opposed the accused being granted bail on the grounds of the nature and gravity attached to the charge.
Chief Magistrate denied bail, remanding Daniels to prison. The matter will return to Court on February 22.
