GRFU Executive Committee aiming for early start to 2016 season

AGM set for Sunday, January 31

THE Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) is planning to capitalise on an early start to the 2016 season , having suffered a sluggish start to the new Executive’s tenure in September of 2015.President of GRFU, Peter Greene, confessed to a somewhat lethargic start to his return at the helm of the sport, but contended that it was unavoidable.
“I’ve been mandated to lead the union with a bunch of young people, so many of them thought that it was a piece of cake but I have to guide them on the constitution in the ways and means of world rugby, the issues and all sort of things, but the fact is they are very inexperienced and they need to be guided,” said the veteran administrator.
The GRFU will have their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, January 31 at the National Resource Centre, from 10:00hrs.
Greene noted that the GRFU is keen on ensuring that Guyana’s constitution is in keeping with that of the International Rugby Board (IRB) in order to access grants and funding.
