IT SEEMS that someone out there feels that the PPP/C has no right to identify itself, or to use signage to make statements on the party’s behalf. The party has reported that three signs placed in front of its headquarters have been removed by persons “who appeared to be employees of the Mayor and City Council”.
The statement went on to say that the security guard spotted the persons “who swiftly grabbed up the signage and ran into a vehicle”.
The imagery is a bit hilarious, I must admit, but to the PPP, I ask: what’s the use of your security guard? Was he too busy taking the photograph attached to your post to actually make an effort to stop the perpetrators? Maybe you’ll think about better installments for your signage, especially if they can just be carted off in a jiffy. But to the alleged thieves, I ask, in the words of the popular song: “Why you gotta be so rude?” Explain yourselves!
Save our Youth
On a grimmer note, it’s sad that the New Year is riddled with so many instances where people have lost their lives in the cruelest of ways. Now the public can’t seem to shake the horror of the news that the missing British teen was indeed murdered by his God-brother with whom he was supposed to stay in Guyana. Following the God-brother’s confession and that of his accomplice after they were captured, the chilling details reveal that the senseless act was done out of greed, and was certainly premeditated, as the young man’s shallow grave had been dug days before he even set foot in the country.
And to think that all they wanted was his money, to buy fancy things, including a motorbike. Was that the cost of his life?
Now, while it is not the time to do so, some are pointing fingers at the parents, saying that their failure to contact their son and be more involved in his travel arrangements was a crucial error in the entire process. Nevertheless, it is undoubtedly the consensus that such an event calls to mind a type of inhumanity that is comparable to crimes committed by the clinically insane, and the worst thing about it is that the killers are so young…
So the public questions: Who will save our youth?
