Holder to miss PSL after WICB deny player permission

WEST Indies all-rounder and skipper of the regional team’s One Day International and Test sides, Jason Holder, will not be allowed to join up with the Quetta Gladiators for the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) after failing to gain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).Holder was expected to earn in the region of $70 000 after being picked in the club’s top Diamond category.
The PSL, in confirming the news, stressed that the WICB hoped to have their players participate in first-class competition as a means of producing better Test cricketers.
“It’s true Holder wouldn’t be playing for PSL Gladiators as his NOC has been rejected,” a PSL official told The Express Tribune.
“We had been in contact with him for the last several months and he wanted to be part of PSL. We understand that WICB wants to strengthen their Test team and which is why his NOC has been rejected.” In the meantime, Gladiators have an option to sign his replacement.(Sportsmax.com)
