CITY magistrate Faboyo Azore yesterday remanded a miner to prison after he was charged with wounding with the objective to commit murder.Devon Smith of Cummings Lodge was not required to plea to the indictable, which read that on December 31, 2015 at Enteringbang Landing, he wounded Leon Richardson with intention to commit murder.
According to the facts presented to the court by Police Prosecutor Simone Payne, the virtual complainant and the defendant had a misunderstanding.
As a result they ended up in a scuffle and the court was told that during the altercation the suspect took a broken bottle and stabbed the victim in the neck.
The defendant was remanded until January 7 and the matter was transferred to Court One.
