ELVIS FELIX, a gold miner, yesterday appeared before City Magistrate Fabayo Azore on an indictable charge, which alleges that on December 26 at Ichie Rock Landing, Pakaraimas he murdered Ryan Simon.Police Prosecutor, Corporal Simone Payne told the court that the accused and the victim were known to each other. She related that on Boxing Day the two had a misunderstanding, which led to a scuffle. Payne said that the accused left the scene and later returned with a cutlass and dealt Simon several chops to the head after accusing the deceased of “talking his name.”
The prosecutor stated that the accused was arrested in Mahdia and he handed over the murder weapon to the police.
Felix will make his next court appearance on Thursday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
