Optique Vision Care expands

OPTIQUE Vision Care on Thursday night opened its newest flagship store at the Giftland Mall at Pattensen, Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara. It promises to provide cutting-edge eye care technology and outstanding customer service that seeks to transform the eyewear and eye care experience.

Minister of Public Health, Dr. George Norton congratulated the General Manager Dhani Narine and his wife, Madonna Narine for their initiative, and for expanding their line of business.

He told the gathering at Giftland Mall that the Ministry of Public Health was committed to eye care, which was in the forefront, whilst introducing dynamic products in eye care for cost effective purposes.

Dr. Norton added that it was very important to have a comprehensive eye examination annually to detect eye diseases and deficiencies, so that one could have early treatment and care.

He stated that Guyana had also made strides in primary and secondary eye care with the Ophthalmology Hospital at Port Mourant, which caters for various eye care services.

That hospital has been working in collaboration with GPHC Department of Ophthalmology in which eye surgeries were done, he said.

Dr. Norton pointed out that the Low Vision sites have been extended countrywide to promote the 20/20 vision strategy and to create awareness with additional services to avoid blindness, as such they had provided training, technology and infrastructure for that purpose.

The minister said that the present administration would continue to embrace eye care through partnerships with private sector to exchange expertise, links and network for the early detection and treatment of eye diseases in Guyana.

Also making remarks was Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Dr. Emanuel Cummings, who said he was very pleased with the new store which would provide a place for UG students to have clinical training.

And with the opening of more stores by Optique Vision Care, students of UG would have a job in eye care and they would receive clinical training with rotation in the three stores, Dr. Cummings noted.

He told the gathering that Optique Vision Care must be given the recognition it deserves.

The third store features complete designs, which includes everything, from chic brands, state-of-the-art eye care diagnostic technology to modernised displays and a contemporary floor plan.

Optique Vision Care is committed to help maintain healthy eyes and now, in 2015, the owners were pleased to open their newest store, said General Manager, Dhani Narine.

“We are excited to share our new location, as this is a direct response to feedback from our valued customers who requested a more central Georgetown location. We responded and we believe that everyone will love our new store, which incorporates our brand, a welcoming atmosphere with a modern retail space that celebrates both our dreams and vision, along with state-of-the-art eye care equipment.”

Dhani Narine added that apart from their modern clinical equipment, Optique Vision care has an in-house state-of-the-art laboratory for assessing all their eyewear.

He noted that their laboratory was capable of processing more than 50 pairs of eyewear per day and was fully computerised and remotely maintained by an American-based company.

Dhani Narine noted that to foster its growth, the company had secured highly trained Optometrists and Ophthalmologists who were desirous of joining a trusted brand, and to work within a proven system to provide exceptional eye care and excellent service. The opening of this new store adds an additional five persons to the number of persons employed with Optique Vision Care, making a total of 15 at three stores.

Optique Vision Care was created in September 2013 to deliver consistent patient care across the country, with the first location at Mahaica, East Coast Demerara and in November 2014 at Grove, East Bank Demerara and now at Giftland Mall.

The customer experience that is offered is core to achieving Optique Vision Care “To be your preferred eye care provider by delivering professional eye care, value, continuous innovation and exceptional customer service.”
