LOCAL carrier, Roraima Airways, in keeping with a 20-year tradition and in the spirit of the Christmas season, on Saturday feted the indigenous village of Santa Mission in grand style.
This event, which was started in 1994, has become one of the major Christmas activities of the villagers.Addressing the jolly occasion, company representative Dellon Murray, said the party this year was the biggest.

“Today (Friday), we added 20 more gifts to the usual 60 we distribute annually. Those gifts cater for children between the ages of four to 12 and are presented by our Santa Clause. Apart from gifts give away, food, drinks and entertainment are also provided with Santa Clause, our main attraction.”
Roraima also sponsors the refurbishment of the Santa Mission Primary annually, in the month of August and source books for the school’s library.
Upon arrival at Arrow Point, the children sang a Christmas song for the staffers of Roraima Airways, after which they went on a hunt to find Santa, as they do every year.
After finding Santa, the children were presented with gifts, and participated in a number of activities before having lunch with the goodly gent.
Murray disclosed that it is important for the company to give back to the community and, most of all, the children, because it is a joy for the company to be able to put smiles on faces of numerous children every year.
AFTER 20 years of adopting the Santa Mission Primary School and launching the children’s Christmas event, Roraima Airways once again shares the joy of the Christmas spirit with the Indigenous village of Santa Mission with their grand children’s Christmas party.
