THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD Devi Seetaram has been missing since Friday morning after she reportedly left her school, Richard Ishmael Secondary, unbeknown to her family.According to the teenager’s mother Miss Seeta, the girl was dropped off at school in the morning as usual and registered her name, but later told her teacher that she had an appointment at the skin clinic and left during the morning session.
Miss Seeta said that the girl lied to her teacher and skipped school and asked a few friends to accompany her to Popeye’s Water Street location.
However, while at Popeye’s, the teenager’s friends became suspicious and questioned her about her action, when she told them that she was meeting a boy and showed them the extra clothing she had in her bag.
The schoolmates then asked Devi whether she was coming back to school and she told them that she was never coming back to school. The youngsters left their friend Devi and returned to school where they were grilled by the teacher, who later learnt that Seetaram had run away, and alerted Devi’s mother.
The stressed mother noted that this was the first time that her daughter had done something like this since she was never a bad child, but was always jolly. Her running away was a mystery, since she had showed no signs of doing this.

MOM APPEALS
The mother became emotional as she pleaded for the safe return of her daughter. “We miss her, we love her, we’re not angry or upset with her and we just want her to come home and be safe.”
Miss Seeta said she has no clue as to what could have occurred with her now missing child. She is now begging the public to help her find her daughter.
Persons who may have information about Devi’s whereabouts can call her family on telephone numbers 616-4151; 220-8898 or the nearest police station.
