DESPITE another Test series defeat, Jason Holder is confident West Indies can learn from their disappointment in Sri Lanka.West Indies captain Jason Holder has urged his batsmen to show more patience following a 72-run defeat to Sri Lanka yesterday that sealed another Test series defeat.
The tourists went into day five on 20-1 following a day-four washout in their pursuit of 244 for victory.
But the Windies slumped from a seemingly strong position of 80-1 to 171 all out despite a battling 61 from Darren Bravo as Sri Lanka secured a 2-0 series whitewash.
The Windies failed to score 200 in either innings and have not won a Test series in 2015, but Holder believes there is plenty they can learn from this disappointment.
“We fell just short in this Test; we didn’t bat well enough in the second innings. We have got to be patient and patience is key,” Holder said.”Whenever we came under pressure from the Sri Lankan bowlers, we succumbed to it.
“There is a lot we can take away from this series, we are still a young team and we have a lot to learn.”(Sportsmax.com)
