MACORP, official distributor of Caterpillar (CAT) products, launched last Monday its Hose Fabrication Shop aimed at providing, as per factory specification, the services of rebuilding, cleaning, and providing durable hoses for CAT and non-CAT equipment.

Located at the company’s head office at Providence, East Bank Demerara, this hose fabrication shop has boasted the ability to provide durable hoses for any CAT machine and for any other type of machine, such as automotive, cars, fire trucks, and so forth.

Parts Manager Asif Sahid said that by serving a mass market and by keeping in mind that any particle can damage equipment, the shop provides a superior product to be used on any equipment, given that the MACORP process uses a standard procedure to make sure hoses are cleaned. He said: “Once it gets into the system, it can be damaged.” Through a computerised process, the hose shop will ensure that everything is intact and of superior quality.

The process was observed during a tour of the fabrication shop. Currently competing with the roadside shops, Sahid said the hose fabrication shop has the upper hand because its process stresses a lot on cleanliness. And the prices are also competitive, given that the shop does not charge for labour, but just for the item.

MACORP continues to invest, regardless of the alleged economic decline much-touted by private investors and public officials. This comes as an encouragement to other investors who are interested in investing in Guyana’s market. (Navendra Seoraj)
