A 55-YEAR-old vendor of Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast was rushed to the Suddie hospital last Friday after his minibus collided with another vehicle driven by a CID officer on the Taymouth Manor public road, Essequibo Coast.
Reports said the vendor, Madhoo Persaud, was driving his minibus at around 14:00 hrs along the Taymouth Manor public road when a collision occurred between the two vehicles.
According to several residents in the area, the loud impact of the collision caused persons to rush to the pubic road. One resident said several detectives were in the vehicle that collided with the vendor’s minibus.
The vendor who sustained serious injuries to one of his feet was taken out of his vehicle by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the Suddie hospital where he was admitted. Reports said he is expected to undergo emergency surgery for his seriously injured foot.
Reports said the vendor was returning to his Golden Fleece home after selling vegetables at the Anna Regina market when the accident occurred.
Police investigations are in progress.
