LEON Thomas of Lot 15 Manchester Village, Corentyne is alleged to have unlawfully wounded Meena Crawford Morrisson with intent to murder her.
Reappearing before Albion Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh on Friday, Thomas was granted bail in the sum of $250,000, and pleaded for its reduction to $200,000.

But Police Sergeant Orin Joseph, prosecuting, objected to Thomas being granted bail on ground that the defendant was tampering with the witness. Further, the alleged victim told the court that the defendant threatened to kill her as soon as he is given liberty.
Thomas, standing in the dock and listening to the statements, said: “Is people like you all does make people do things!”
Consequently, the magistrate withdrew the bail application and remanded Thomas to prison until June 9.
When the case was initially called, Thomas was not required to plead to the indictable charge of attempted murder. However, on the second charge of wounding, allegedly committed on Glen Martin Morrison, the defendant was required to plead, and he pleaded not guilty.
He was initially refused bail after the court had been informed of the prevalence of the offence and that the complainant Meena Morrison remained a patient at the New Amsterdam Hospital, and that the defendant has other matters pending in the lower court.
Thomas told the court that he also had sustained injuries to his hand, but he had not been taken to see a doctor. Further, he told the court that he and the married woman had been involved in a relationship, and that it was during their relationship that she had stolen his money and jewellery, over two months ago.
Thomas alleged that on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, the married woman had telephoned him to advise that he could collect his money.
Incidentally, he said, he was travelling in a minibus when the complainants joined the vehicle; and it was they, he said, who had started the incident.
