IT was finally confirmed by the police that the remains found on September 23, 2014 aback of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, is that of businessman Mohamed Khan’s, who went missing following a trip from Venezuela to Guyana to conduct business.
The DNA results are back and Crime Chief Leslie James was quoted as saying, “After we confirmed the results, relatives were contacted and the position is that they are preparing to have a burial. On Tuesday we will be handing over the remains.” With this latest revelation the case is being treated as a homicide.

The remains were found a month after Khan went missing. The skull, which was wrapped in a plastic bag, was located several feet from the body which was in an advanced state of decomposition.
Khan, who had fled to neighbouring Venezuela after selling his business place on Hadfield Street, had talked about death threats he had received on numerous occasions.
Meanwhile, police have not yet detained anyone in connection with his murder.
Khan, 54, had escaped execution in July, 2014 at La Grange, West Bank Demerara, when a man shot him in his abdomen shortly after he returned to Guyana on a brief holiday.
He was last heard from on August 21, 2014.
