Cummings Lodge skeletal remains… Samples ready, but not yet uplifted from T&T

THE skeletal remains found aback of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara on September 23, 2014 had samples taken therefrom and dispatched by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) to Trinidad and Tobago for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing.

That procedure has been completed, but a rank from the local Force will have to travel to the twin-island republic to uplift the results of the testing.

Police say the samples were sent to be analysed in the twin-island republic since last year, and they are awaiting the results.

Suspecting the headless body which had been found in an advanced state of decomposition to be that of former MFK Trading boss Mohamed Khan, sleuths sent samples to have the identity confirmed in Trinidad and Tobago.

The remains were found a month after Khan had disappeared following a visit to Guyana from Venezuela to conduct business.

Khan, 54, sold his Hadfield Street business and fled Guyana after his life had been threatened. During a visit to Guyana on July 9, 2014, he was shot and injured by a lone gunman at La Grange, West Bank Demerara.

He was last heard from on August 21, 2014 after he left his wife and children in Venezuela and headed to Guyana. He is still missing.

The skull, wrapped in a plastic bag, was found several feet from the skeletal remains of the unidentified body.
