Guyana is indeed flooded with tons of very talented singers, but what has been noted is that with the exception of the hip-hop star, ‘Gialiani’, not much focus is placed on the few others that attempt to break through in that field on the local shores.

While the hip-hop genre of music is regarded by many here as an ‘overseas intrusion’, there are however quite a few locals who can certainly hold their own against the international dons and divas of hip-hop, if they are only given the chance. Amongst them is the still very young and talented Kishaun Doobay, who came unto the scene in 2007 when he teamed up with partner, Brandon Facey to make a grand entrance that still can be remembered by many.
Moving to Tortola (British Virgin Islands) soon after he hyped his vocal package better and has now returned with a reservoir of experience as he prepares to launch a new single dubbed, ‘Drop in down Low’ in the coming week. Facey has migrated so Doobay is now performing solo.
To date he has done several singles with, ‘Say my Name’ being amongst the hottest of the line-up. He intends to soon create a music video for his latest release and is earnestly soliciting assistance to make this a reality.
Come on now you rich ones…. Don’t be mean now…. Put a little kindness in your heart and dig into your pockets. Your can certainly find some ‘small change’ there to assist this very talented son of the soil. Don’t flip these pages and roll over in disdain… If you do so you may just never be able to sleep well again… (lol)

So far Doobay under the label of ‘Nu-Era Singers’ has performed at the Guyana Fashion Weekend (Glamour Model Search event), Red House, Kingston, Georgetown, and also at the Bartica Regatta festivities last year, amongst a few other locations.
