Guyanese ship capsizes near Corentyne River mouth

-two crew members reported missing

THE Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) reported on Wednesday, August 13, that at approximately 21:00 hours on August 12, the Guyana registered motor tanker Swift Dolphin reportedly capsized off the coast in the vicinity of the mouth of the Corentyne River.

A press release said the tanker was proceeding from Paramaribo, Suriname to Georgetown, Guyana with four crew members on board; two were rescued, while the other two are reported missing.

Search and rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the two missing crew members.
