–for wounding female cousin

JULIUS Frederick, a 38-year-old technician of Durban Backlands, Georgetown, appeared yesterday before Georgetown Magistrate Ann McLennan charged with wounding his cousin, and was ordered to post bail in the sum of $50,000. The offence to which Frederick pleaded not guilty detailed that on August 2, at Durban Backlands, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Shanette Vyphuis.

Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones did not reveal any facts of the case, nor did he oppose bail for the defendant. However, he requested that the defendant be placed on a bond to be of good behaviour.

The matter is set for recall before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on September 4.
