Man who denied ‘spitting in his neighbour’s face’ granted bail

VIGILANCE Magistrate Sueanna Lovell heard on Thursday, 27th March that 35-year-old Clifford Peters assaulted Patricia Trotman on Tuesday, March 25, by spitting in her face.Pleading not guilty, the young man said the virtual complainant (VC) had concocted that story because she wanted the Peters family to remove from the premises where they currently reside.

After listening to the accused, the magistrate decided that the matter may have to be tried.

Police Prosecutor John Singh had no objection to the man being granted bail, and Peters was placed on $10,000 bail before the matter was adjourned to April 15.
