POLICE are investigating a stabbing incident after which a taxi-driver and a “passenger” ended up at different hospitals seeking medical attention last Monday.At about 11:00 hrs on January 27, a man hired Joel Mc Curdy from Demico Car Park, in Georgetown, to go to Parika, East Bank of Essequibo.
Along the way the “passenger” requested to go into Tuschen Housing Scheme, also on East Bank of Essequibo but, while in Tuschen, the former took out a knife and stabbed Mc Curdy to his chest and a scuffle ensued, during which the latter also suffered stab wounds.
Public-spirited persons responded and assisted in the arrest of the suspect who is receiving medical attention at the Leonora Cottage Hospital, West Coast of Demerara.
Mc Curdy has been admitted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital while an investigation is in progress.
