CRIME sleuths are of the view that wanted man, Steve Richard Bacchus, prime suspect in the murder of Special Constable Quincy Wright, is perpetrating armed robberies in the Sophia area.He is believed to have shot and injured 19-year-old Romeiro Weithers on January 26 at about 20:00 hrs, while Weithers was walking to his ‘C’ Field, Sophia home. The youth said he was accosted by a lone gunman, and relieved of his jewels and cell phone after which he was shot to the abdomen.
Bacchus is also wanted for questioning about an incident that occurred in North Sophia, Georgetown on January 23, 2014 at about 21:00 hrs, wherein a firearm was stolen from a guard attached to a private security service. Victims of that robbery were security guards, Mortimer Maynard, 45, and Trevor Fraser, 42. The two guards had been together, with the latter armed with a .38 revolver belonging to their employer at the time they were attacked by three men.
A wanted bulletin has been issued for Bacchus since Monday. He is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of Quincy Wright, who was fatally shot at about 22:30 hrs on January 24 following an argument with a man at his girlfriend’s house at Lot 84 Guyhoc Park, Georgetown.
