MAGISTRATE Ann McLennan, on Thursday, dismissed threatening language charges against a couple who were charged with threatening to poison one another.
Richard Singh, 60, and his wife, Nalinie Beharry, of Lot 71 Gordon Street, Kitty, Georgetown, had both pleaded not guilty to separate charges which alleged that, on Tuesday, January 7, at Kitty, they made use of threatening language to each other.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Paul Fung-a-Fat, for Beharry, told the Court that the two defendants do not wish to give evidence in the case.
He said they have a cane juice business and had a misunderstanding that day.
Magistrate McLennan remarked: “I hope they don’t poison the cane juice.”
She told them those are serious allegations and they were bonded to keep the peace for the next six months and breaching the bond may result in three months imprisonment.
