Bresnan impresses on return

TIM Bresnan once again demonstrated his Ashes well-being with four wickets as he continues his comeback from a stress fracture of the back.England are hoping to be able to add Bresnan to their squad to face Australia in time to make him available as a possible third seamer for the second Test in Adelaide next week.
First of all, though, in his first match since August he needs to come through the England Performance Programme’s fixture against Queensland 2nd XI in Brisbane.
He began well with an unbeaten half-century in the EPP’s 376 for nine on Wednesday at Allan Border Field, and on day two of three he proved his worth with the ball too as he finished with four for 31 in the hosts’ 156 all out.
After Joe Burns’ unbeaten 97 had dominated the Queensland innings, the EPP reached stumps in control on 156 for five thanks to Ben Foakes’ unbeaten 52.(PA Sport)
