Three charged with break and enter on Central Electronics

THREE men who were jointly charged with break and enter and larceny committed on Central Electronics located on Robb Street, Georgetown, yesterday made another appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.David Lynch, of Lot 147 Cooper Street, Raymond Harvey a miner of Lot 16 Duncan Street and Oriley Small of Lot 6 Charlestown, all in Georgetown, were all granted bail in the sum of $250,000 each.
They first appeared in court on October 18 and pleaded not guilty to that charge that said between Saturday 5 and Monday 7 of October, at Robb Street, Georgetown, they broke into Central Electronics and stole a quantity of items, including a flat screen television set and a metal safe, along with cash, together valued $9.2M, property of Chet Singh.
Police Corporal Bharat Mangru, prosecuting, told the court that the virtual complainant secured his business place on Robb Street, Georgetown, on Saturday, October 5, and returned for business on Monday, October 7, when he discovered that a door on the ground floor of the building was broken. A check was made on CCTV camera and it was noticed that Harvey, the driver of motor car PEE 6716, entered the store and then made an escape.
Mangru objected to pre-trial freedom of all the defendants, citing the prevalence and seriousness of the offence. He added that if bail should be granted, he requested that conditions should be attached.
However, the objection was overruled, and the defendants are ordered to report at Brickdam Police Station every fortnight, on Fridays at 17:00 hrs, until January 17, 2014.
