MISS India Guyana and Miss India Worldwide 2013, Katherina  Roshana Khan was, on Monday, appointed International Ambassador of Peace of The Universal Peace Federation, at a special ceremony at the Headquarters of the Family Federation of World Peace and the Unification Church.

The Universal Peace Federation, in a statement, said  Roshana, who is also the ‘Most Beautiful Skin’ awardee at the Miss India Worldwide contest, was previously appointed National Ambassador of Peace, but because of her grace and excellent fulfillment of her mandate, the Federation has decided to appoint her now with an international responsibility and flavour.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of the Federation’s Guyana Chapter, Rev. Ronald Mc Garrell, said Roshana has brought great honour and joy to the Federation, and has even caused it to win international recognition by the International Management Committee of the Universal Peace Federation, headquartered in South Korea,  by her commitment and hard work to create harmony and peace among Guyanese, and for supporting and representing the autistic kids, the disabled children of the Ptolemy Reid Centre, and disabled and orphaned children in general; and for her support of the Federation’s Orphanage, the Joshua House.
He said he was instructed to confer on Miss Roshana Khan this great honour and title, which is usually given to few dignitaries in the world, and Ms. Khan will be called upon to travel to various countries to deliver peace notes and read messages of peace and unification.
He thanked Ms. Roshana  Khanfor her excellent service and support, and also wished her well in her future endeavours, as he and the elders advised her to enter the Miss Universe Guyana Pageant, to which Katherina smiled and in reply thanked the Federation for its recognition and encouragement.
She was most thankful to Rev. McGarrell, who has always been a Godfather figure to her and her siblings, even as she was thankful to the other elders, and accepted the award and responsibility to work for world peace and unification.
