Police wanted bulletin issued for Dacia Bourne

DACIA Bourne, the woman who is alleged to have fatally knifed and beaten her ‘child father’ of three years, is still on the run but the police have issued an all-stations bulletin for her.Police said that Dacia Alida Bourne is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of Clifford Singh which occurred on August 14, 2013, at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.

Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Bourne is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 226-6978, 229-2569, 229-2702, 229-2557, 911 or the nearest police station.

All information will be treated with strict confidence, the Guyana Police Force said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, Assistant Police Commissioner, Eric Bassant said that the woman, whose photograph was published in the media following the homicide on August 14, 2013, is believed to be in the interior or she may have skipped the country. The Commander of ‘C’ Division added that she is still on the run but she wouldn’t hide forever because she is known. Clifford Singh, 35, of 22 Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara died from a fractured skull and punctured lungs, a post-mortem revealed last week. Singh’s relatives yesterday said that he was laid to rest following a church service on Wednesday and they have not heard anything new about the suspect’s whereabouts. The couple have a 10-month old baby, who was taken away by the police and later handed over to relatives. According to reports, they had shared a violent relationship in which Bourne had the ‘upper-hand’ when alcohol drinking sprees would turn into open brawls but they would soon after make up. Singh’s mutilated body was found on the roadway at Prince William Street, Plaisance on August 14 at about 02:15 hrs with marks of violence.
