COMMANDER-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Guyana, His Excellency President Donald Ramotar, will tomorrow swear in Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Chief-of-Staff, Commodore Gary Best, to the rank of Rear Admiral, having approved the promotion.

A Rear Admiral is a naval commissioned officer ranked above that of a Commodore.

Best has been a member of the Guyana Defence Force since 1981. He holds several decorations, including the Military Service Star, the Military Service Medal, the Military Efficiency Medal, and the Border Defence Medal.

Proceedings will take place at the Office of the President (OP) on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive, here in Georgetown.
