On hand to receive the donation was administrator of the Community Policing Group (CPG), Dennis Pompey, who expressed gratitude at receipt of the gift, and promised it would be employed in the work of the CPG, to boost capability in crime fighting in the community.
President of the GCCI, Clinton Urling, lauded the collaborative effort of the MoHA and the private sector, and disclosed that a recently held collaborative security seminar was fruitful.
He disclosed that more collaborative efforts are in the pipeline, and those will benefit all parties involved. He also said the GCCI is in the process of preparing brochures and pamphlets on how to safeguard businesses in terms of detering crime and improving security, and those would be distributed among private sector entities.
Director of American Texila University, Ashok Kumar, told reporters following the handing over ceremony for the motor cycle at MoHA on Brickdam, Georgetown that Texila has partnered with the GCCI on several initiatives following the establishment of the organisation in 2010.
He said that Texila is here to do something by way of a donation to the MoHA, but there is need for more to be done, but he was grateful for the support of the GCCI and the MoHA thus far.
