With the Jamzone Regional Night event having kicked off last night at the Guyana National Stadium, fans are now readying for the Jamzone Summer Break ‘Brazilian Night’, which kicks off tonight at the National Park, and features the sensational Pepe Moreno and his band. This event promises to be an absolute scorcher.
Then, come Sunday, the National Park will come alive as the overseas and local bikers take to the National Park tarmac to deliver one of the most riveting ‘stunt riding’ shows ever. All the artistes and riders have arrived in Guyana, and most of them appeared yesterday at a press conference hosted at the HJTV Studios in Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, Georgetown.
Addressing the media, HJTV’s Kerwyn Bollers welcomed the artistes and media operatives, noting that this is the 13th staging of the Jamzone Summer Break events. He said all Guyana is ‘pumped up and ready to go’, and he emphasised that fans will indeed enjoy an exciting ‘musical mix’ featuring soca, chutney, reggae and dancehall in real ‘Jamzone Style’.
He said the HJTV team went all out this year in planning the event, and in detailing the decor, and he assured the gathering that the event would be truly successful and very exciting.
Regional Night artiste ‘Busy Signal’, commenting on the event, said it was a pleasure for him to be in Guyana, and that he felt honoured to have been carded for the event. He added that while it’s a blessing to be representing his genre of music, Guyanese can look out for an exciting performance.
Guyana’s talented song diva Lisa Punch has been included on the programme, and she will be performing alongside the hot, new artiste Malcolm Ferreira. She expressed pleasure at being a part of the Jamzone Weekend events, and promised to deliver a scorching performance.
Jory Hector, who declared that he would not engage the audience in a ‘long gaff’, simply stated that he would be bringing the same ‘electric vibes’ Guyanese have become accustomed to over the years.
Super Ray, as he is known (of the Super Ray One Man Band), predicted that the inclusion of his band on the platter would bring out thousands of East Coast Demerara fans to the events.
Trinidad’s Chutney Sensation ‘Ravi B’ declared that “ De doctor is here to give out any type of prescription”, adding that he is pleased to be back in Guyana, and would definitely put on an excellent show with his Karma Band.
This is Shal Marshal’s first time performing at a Jamzone event in Guyana, but he has been visiting constantly for the past two years. While he indicated that he is more than pleased to be back again, he urged Guyanese to walk with their rags and flags for a night of pulsating revelry.
The Burning Flames Band was also well represented at the press conference.
In a separate interview, the popular Pepe Moreno declared that fans would be attending a scorching event when he hits the stage.
Meanwhile, the stunt riders all promised an excellent show, be it rain or shine; and heading their press conference, Kirk ‘Chow Pow’ Jardine noted that several local riders, go-cart operators and other acts have also been added to this event.
