THE Hydro-Electric Power (Amendment) Bill 2013 represents an opportunity for economic development and modernisation of Guyana’s infrastructure which will benefit all the people of this country. It is with deep regret that we observe that such noble national objectives are being derailed by narrow, partisan interests.

The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha calls on the national leaders to put the welfare of the people of our country foremost in decision making and support the Hydro-Electric Power (Amendment) Bill 2013. It is envisaged that this project will offer all Guyanese, including the public and private sectors, relief from the current electricity burden and would open new vistas and allow them to excel.
