HAMILTON, Bermuda, (CMC)-Four Bermudian cricketers have been selected to play for the Americas All-Star squad in the West Indies Cricket Board Under-19 one day tournament.
Kamau Leverock, Delray Rawlins, Christian Burgess and Tre Manders all played in the recent ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier and will now take part in the August 10th to 22nd tournament.
Manders blasted 170 for Bailey’s Bay in their victory over PHC in local league cricket on Sunday.
“I am very pleased that your young players have been recognised by the ICC and given this great opportunity,” said Bermuda Cricket Board president Loyd Fray in a statement.
“Last year, Kamau Leverock and Joshua Gilbert were selected so we have managed to double the numbers of our representatives,”.
St.Kitts will host this year’s WICB Under-19 one day tournament which will be played across three venues.
“The West Indies Under-19 is a very strong competition which provides an outstanding opportunity for our players to develop, learn and mature as high performance cricketers,” said Fray.
“The fact that a small nation such as Bermuda can be held in such high regard is a testament to the BCB National Academy programme”.
