POLICE Public Relations Officer, Ivelaw Whittaker said the Guyana Police Force is still awaiting legal advice from the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions concerning the recent road fatality of Chinese national Feng Xue Fang. Fang, the owner of a Chinese restaurant on Mandela Avenue, was hit by a car attached to the Green Ice Taxi Service on May 31 while she was crossing the road to go home to her family.
And ironically, the evening before the fatal accident the 42- year-old and her sister were brutally assaulted when three gunmen forced their way into their home and robbed them.
“I didn’t see the accident but all I heard was my aunt pass away and get hit in an accident. My other aunt start crying and told me what happen,” Fang’s nephew had told the media at the scene of the accident.

He reported that Fang was half way across the road when the speeding car, HC 2408, which was headed west along Mandela Avenue, slammed into her. Fang’s body was dragged approximately 60 feet from where she was first struck.
The post-mortem report had revealed that she had died as a result of multiple injuries about her body.
