AFTER the Windies’ most disappointing defeat in recent times against Pakistan on Sunday at the Guyana National Stadium, the One Day International (ODI) captain, Dwayne Bravo said, “We have to try and forget that game and focus on today’s game because it is an important one.”
After the match against Pakistan which the Maroon Boys lost by 126 runs, Bravo stated that it was a very disappointing performance as a batting team. He went on to say, “Credit must be given to Shahid Afridi and the captain Misbah-ul-Haq; they really settled in and changed the momentum of the game.”
When asked where he thinks it went wrong for his team, he said, “I can’t really pick a point where we went wrong but I think that we let ourselves down. The batting had no confidence in it so Pakistan completely outplayed us.”
“We still have four more games to go and now it is about giving a good account of ourselves. We thank the fans who came out and supported us and we know that if we give a good performance today I think they will keep supporting us,” he said.
“This eleven is our best eleven, we just have to keep supporting each other and once we get in form we can be very dangerous.”
Finally he said, “Tuesday (today) is a different ball game, it may even have different conditions so we just have to wait and see. That’s how cricket goes.”
