HOUSEWIFE Gasmattie Sancharan, who had her husband Gregory Mars arrested and charged for assaulting her, informed the court that she would prefer to seek counselling to resolve the domestic issue, rather than the criminal prosecution of the accused.

Her husband was making a court appearance before Cove & John Magistrate Zamilla Alli on May 8, charged with unlawfully assaulting Sancharan at Good Hope Access Road, East Coast Demerara on May 4.

After providing the couple with information relative to their seeking counsel, Magistrate Alli dismissed the matter.
