ATTORNEY-AT-LAW, Mr. Euclin Gomes complained to Magistrate Fabayo Azore yesterday about the police attitude towards filing court matters.
The lawyer said it is particularly disturbing, to him and his colleagues, that the police think they could turn up at court just about anytime and do the filing.
Gomes pointed out that other magistrates have adopted a policy that filings should be done before a certain time or the cases would not be called.
He encouraged Magistrate Azore to do similarly and she agreed.
Gomes pointed out that a businessman closed his business, yesterday, just to be in court but ended up wasting time as the proceedings had not been filed.
Counsel declared: “We can do better than this.”
