The President of the Blue Bird Domino Club had briefly exited his yard and was about to retrieve his car to park it under his house when he was attacked by two men, who escaped under cover of the dark.
Joseph, 52, was killed at about 23:40 hours just after a domino competition had ended following a power outage in the area.
Persaud noted that the man’s wife, Faye Joseph, had heard explosions, and when she went to enquire what had transpired, she saw her mortally wounded husband lying on the road.
Persaud said Joseph was relieved of a gold chain and a gold band, but no motive for the homicide has as yet been established.

The well-known businessman was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), where he succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
