LEFT arm spinner Nikita Miller and his spin twin Odean Browne shared eight wickets evenly to spin double defending champions Jamaica to a 215 runs victory over Guyana in their seventh round West Indies Cricket Board Regional 4Day tournament at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, yesterday.Scores: Jamaica 208 and 267 for 8 declared; Guyana 96 and 155.
Having resumed on 183 for 5, a lead of 295 with Carlton Baugh Jr on 59 and Jermaine Blackwood 41, Jamaica stretched that lead to 369, before declaring their innings closed at 11:15hrs.
Blackwood got his 50 off 133 balls, with three fours from 140minutes, before he was bowled by Steven Jacobs for 57 at 225 for 6 breaking his 138 runs sixth wicket partnership with Baugh Jr who was on 85 at his demise.
Baugh  missed his ton by one run, when he was run out by Narsingh Deonarine’s direct hit from mid off in his attempt to steal a cheeky single, having faced 143 deliveries and hitting nine fours and one six. He was followed 10 runs later by Miller (08) at 251 for 8, before the declaration came with Richardson 0 and Browne on 7.
Jacobs (4-61) and Veerasammy Permaul (3-64), did the damage with the ball for Guyana who lost Assad Fudadin (03) on the stroke of lunch to be 6 for 1, followed by Chandrapaul Hemraj, who feathered one through to Brenton Parchment behind the wicket off David Bernard Jr to leave Guyana on 27 for 2 after lunch, chasing 370 for victory.
Deonarine joined Leon Johnson and they took the score to 59 for 2 at tea, as Deonarine drove Bernard Jr down the ground for four, following which he whipped Miller of his legs for another boundary to square leg to move to 23 while Johnson was on 30 at the break.
After tea, Guyana lost Deonarine who got a leading edge back to Browne for 27 (77balls, 3×4) while adding 43 with Johnson who reached his half century off 126 balls, hitting three fours while batting for 173 minutes for Guyana who were 94 for 3 with Anthony Bramble on 11.
Bramble (18) was caught by Danza Hyatt at slip off Miller at 113 for 4 followed by Johnson who was bowled by Miller for 70 scored off 174 balls and 218 minutes batting while he struck five fours, at 134 for 5.
Guyana were dismissed shortly after Johnson’s demise for 155, losing Jacobs (12), Chandrika (05) and Devendra Bishoo (01), Permaul (06) and Keon Joseph 01, leaving Ronsford Beaton unbeaten on 5 against the bowling of Miller and Browne who took four wickets each for 49 and 54 runs respectively, engineering a collapse that saw the home team lose 7 wickets for 42 runs.
