Miner loses finger disembarking truck

A TWENTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD miner lost a finger from his left hand yesterday while disembarking a truck at 70 Miles, Barama Road, North West District.

Junior Homes had been travelling in the vehicle to the interior when he met with the accident.
He was getting off at the Police Outpost when the finger got hooked between two pieces of iron and was severed.
Homes had to abandon his journey at 70 Miles and was rushed to Suddie Hospital, on Essequibo Coast, where he is now a patient.
