So far, he has acted in plays like ‘To Sir with Love’, and ‘Watch de Ride’, among several others, and has worked with other popular local actors like Ron Robinson, Henry Rodney, Sonia Yarde, Sheron Taylor, and a host of others. “Theatre is like a small world, and everyone is like a family. We get along and get closer to each other with every production,” Sean said.
Just recently, he won the Theatre Guild’s Best Supporting Actor Award for a play called ‘Between the Covers’ that was directed by Randolph Critchlow. “I was surprised when I got that award, because I had the least amount of lines in the play,” he disclosed.
Sean said he was particularly thrilled to be nominated twice alongside Ron Robinson in the best actor category of awards.
Presently, he is pursuing a diploma in Communications at the University of Guyana, and hopes to continue acting on the side once he would have secured a job. “I believe in not just waiting until your dream comes to you; you have to pursue your dream. Better things come to those who pursue what they want. You have to strive and work hard for it,” he said.
Sean told the Chronicle he enjoys writing poems, dancing, acting and directing plays. He is happy to have found his niche in life and to be able to pursue it.
Among the things he considers achievements, Sean said, are having finished high school, entering theatre, and being on campus at the University of Guyana.
Born to Audrey and Troy Thompson, his siblings are Troy Jnr., Anthony, Aubrey and Trishana.
