THE corpse of a nine-year-old student of Regma Primary School, Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was fished out of the Blue Lake, a popular swimming spot in the mining town.
Jamal De Younge had been reported missing sometime after 16:00 hrs on Monday after he had gone for a swim in company with some friends.
Jamal’s mother, Sueanne Hermonstine was inconsolable when she received word that her son’s body had been found.
The Blue Lake, has over the years, become increasingly dangerous, claiming a number of lives since the mini lagoons were formed from mined-out bauxite pits.
