THE Guyana Defence Force (GDF) said that Leading Ratings Kenroy Fraser and Henry Caesar of the Coast Guard were on Tuesday morning arrested by GDF military police at their homes at Belladrum, West Coast Berbice. The two are currently undergoing medical examinations at the GDF’s medical centre at Base Camp Ayanganna, as this is a standard procedure which precedes their detention.

Caesar had been a deserter for over a year, while Fraser went absent without leave soon after his return to Guyana after completing studies in the United States where he pursued the Hydraulic Systems and Equipment/Air Conditioning and Refrigeration course from May 29th, 2012 to July 29th, 2012. He was one of the 10 deserters for whom publications were made in the press between March 5 -11.
