SUELALL Ramdial of Better Success, Essequibo Coast was placed on a bond to keep the peace for two years, and further, was remanded to prison on Tuesday when he appeared before Essequibo Magistrate Mr. Sunil Scarce at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court to answer a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.

The 43-year-old father of three pleaded guilty to the charge that he was drinking alcohol at a shop on March 9 when he physically and verbally assaulted his wife after she turned up at the liquor restaurant to accost him.
Prosecutor Krishnadat Ramana objected to bail because the prisoner has a similar matter pending in court. Ramdial’s matter has been transferred to the Charity Magistrate’s Court for April 8.
